The Cup was started in 2016 by two privat persons Keith Karlsson Astor and Johan Rolander.

Johan was the project manager for the cup until spring 2019. Since then, the tournament is runnning by football clubs Assyriska FF and Syrianska FC who are also part-owners. To mark the changes, the tournament will henceforth be called the NEW Södertälje International Football Cup.

New cup general is Ninous Touma, youth manager in Assyrian FF. Former ice hockey player Leif R Carlsson has taken over the project leadership. The ambition of the new management is to both improve and strengthen the administrative and sporting organization.
